The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) has established this privacy policy in order to demonstrate TAHC's commitment to respecting the privacy of its web site visitors. The following discloses the agency's information collection practices for the TAHC web site.

Collection of Personal Information

TAHC does not collect or track personal information from visitors to its web site. Personal information is defined as any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains.

If and when visitors choose to submit personal information to TAHC by submitting online forms or by sending email to TAHC, any information disclosed may become public information under Texas state law. All visitors to the TAHC web site should exercise caution when making a decision to disclose personal information.

Collection of Generic Information

Generic information from server logs and/or statistical tracking software is collected and analyzed for the limited purpose of improving the TAHC web site. Generic information includes data such as the number and frequency of visitors to the TAHC site and traffic patterns within the TAHC web site. Generic information does not reveal the identity of the visitor.

The TAHC web site contains links to other sites at which personal information may be collected. The collection and use of your personal information by these external sites will be governed by the privacy policies in place at those sites. TAHC is not responsible for the privacy policies, or lack of policies, in place at any site outside the domain of "www.tahc.texas.gov".
